SEM Driver's Education - 06.09.2005

The June Driver's Ed event was held on a hot, muggy day. But the weather did
not hamper the enthusiasm of the drivers and instructors. After trying to get
lots of photos of Club events for the web site, I struck it rich this time. Too rich
in fact. I have about 350 pictures from this day alone! When it rains, it pours,
as they say. But better too many than too few.

With this volume of material, it has taken me a while to sift through them and
reduce the best to a size appropriate for the web site.

This first set of pictures were taken by Herb Weisenthal, who was testing a new
digital camera.

Here are pictures of the Novice group. There are pictures of them in their cars
with their instructors as they leave the grid for their first time on the track.
There are also pictures of them on the track for low-speed, no-helmet
familiarization laps. The CD also contained a few pictures of their first at-speed
laps.

Michael Eblenkamp has taken pictures at several club events. This time he was asked to take pictures of people, rather than of cars, as we have lots of pictures of cars. He
outdid himself! Here are but some of the pictures he sent me.

Where I recognized the people, I have identified them. For others, you will have to
help me out. If you know who the people are, send me an email here with their
names and picture number and I will identify them in the captions. Also, I may
incorrectly identify some people. Please don't get mad. Just sent me the correct
