Ladies
and gentlemen it is time to start our engines. Now that the Porsches
are out lets see what they can do. At Nelson’s Performance
Garage we did just that. This power test that was performed on
all the vehicles just took mere seconds.
There were intense sounds that filled the shop and mesmerizing
sights from the tire rotation that kept attracting the crowd to
come back and watch each car that was tested. It left the all
who participated with smiles from ear to ear.
Clark
Benson pulled onto the roller with his 996 GT3 and waited just
mere seconds to find out that this vehicle was rated at 360whp
not much off the 380bhp Porsche factory rated. You can be sure
to see Clark out at Waterford. It might just be that it is out
of your windshield rather than your rearview mirror that you see
Clark but you will see him.
Dave
Burton gave his Boxster S a whirl at the ball. This was such a
joy to Dave that he went home and got his wife’s 356 for
another go at the ball. This brought so much joy to all participants
even Dave of Nelson Performance gave the 356 a couple of extra
turns on the ball. To be truthful it was kind of hard to get Dave
out of the 356 due to how much fun he was having. I am not exactly
sure with the outcome of Dave’s in comparison to Clarks
that there is much similarity other than pure fun.
We
even attracted members from other regions that participated in
this event. That is right there was a representative from the
Ohio region. The proof is in the pudding on this one. Pictures
say a thousand words. Marc Molzon hesitating to take his car for
a turn on the ball showed up to the event in an Ohio region Porsche
shirt. Marc’s 911 Turbo really gave the crowd something
to talk about. It was like the end of a concert when the lights
turn on and the crowd is leaving you can see the concert hall
filled with smoke so thick that you can cut a knife through it.
Well Marc was our finale at Nelson’s Performance and when
the car took a couple of turns on the ball and the straps were
taking off of the car and pulled out what was left was a shop
filled with smoke. What a proper way to end a great event.
The
loud noises are still ringing in our ear. Smiles where on all
who participated and even on those that where just spectators.
Who could have asked for any better way to spend a Sunday afternoon
with friends and of course great cars. True thanks go out to Dave
at Nelson Performance for making this such a great event for all
of us. But I can not thank all of you enough who did show up enough
for making this such a pleasant event for me and hopefully for
each one of you as well. Just remember now that you know what
your car can do get out that and show that off.
