Picnic and Concours - 2004

Over 45 cars were entered in this year’s concours. That is nearly a 50% increase over last year’s entrants. Members are also improving their cleaning skills. One half of the cars scored at least 70 points out of a possible 75 maximum. In some cases winners were decided by a fingerprint or a wax smudge on the car. That ‘practice makes perfect’ seems to hold true. Past attendees are paying attention to the winning cars and putting forth the effort to upgrade their own car to trophy material.

This winter we hope to have a tech session on concours detailing. With the National Porsche Parade coming to out backyard in Pennsylvania the skills will prove invaluable in National competition.

Thanks to all those who participated, Judges: John Denyer, Dennis Denyer, Neil Goldberg, Joseph Jakuous, and Bob Amano, and the help of Sue Dolkowski. Also congratulations to the winners, who are listed below.

The Denyer family outdid themselves once again. Sue, Dennis, and their daughter and son-in-law had all their efforts and hard work pay off with a beautiful day and a bountiful amount of food, The ribs and chicken were catered. But all of the appetizers, side dishes, and desserts were provided by Sue and other club members. The Denyer gang unloaded two trucks full of supplies, pop, juice, plates, utensils, and other goodies from donuts to shrimp cocktail.
