SEM Sponsors the 9th Annual Roar on the Shore

Article by Don Kleist, webmaster

SEM/PCA hosted the Club Races at Gingerman Raceway on July 1-3, 2005.
More than 100 car were entered in the races and the Driver's Education event
on July 1-2. By all reports, the entire race weekend unfolded without a hitch.

This was my first time at an SEM/PCA Club Race. I helped out with the Timing
and Scoring of the events. My station was on the top floor of the Start-Finish
tower, one of the few air conditioned places at Gingerman. What a great place
to watch from. I could see all of the track from there.

Below you will find many pictures taken during the weekend. I expect to get
more pictures form others who had cameras. I will post the best of these when
I get them. The pictures from the track and awards presentation appear with
numbers as captions. If you know who car it is or who is receiving the awards
send me an email here and I will identify them in the captions. (My thanks to
Amber Door for identifying all of the cars and most of the people. - webmaster)

Since there were so many classes represented in the races, I will not attempt
to list all the results here. You can find the all the results on the Porsche Club
of America web site by clicking here.

I just received a CD with pictures from the Gingerman Club Race weekend
from Michael Eblenkamp. They appear below.

From all that I hear and from what I observed, the entire weekend went
smoothly and without a glitch. This is because of the many volunteers, mostly
members of SEM/PCA, who gave up their holiday weekend to help stage the
Club Race. Many of them are shown in these pictures. They all deserve a
rousing THANK YOU for all their hard work. (I know I have missed at least two
volunteers. I hope to get pictures of them from another source. - webmaster)

The activities began with a Drivers' meeting at which the rules for the weekend
were reviewed by race officials. Here are some random pictures of the meeting
