General Membership Dinner
We Had Him First!
If
you missed the October Membership meeting you can hear Ralph Gilles
speak on Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at Cobo Center, the cost for
the day
is $275. Ralph will be one of the three speakers at the 11th Annual
Autoweek Design Forum.
Ralph has spent time during our Waterford events.
This young excutive is
a great speaker. Ralph knows a thing or two about changing directions
and breaking molds. As director of design for DaimlerChrysler,
Gilles’
most recent assignment involved moving away from Chrysler’s
entrenched
cab-forward, front-wheel-drive lineage to design the company’s
future
large cars, the rear-wheel-drive Chrysler 300C sedan and Dodge
Magnum
sport-wagon due on the market this spring.
Gilles brought plenty of rear-wheel-drive experience
to the project,
having served as interior designer for one of Chrysler’s
most prominent
rear-drivers ever, the Dodge Viper.
Our turnout was a little light but all who heard
Ralph speak about his
old cars and what is coming in the future enjoyed the evening
