PCA Escape 2007
Thursday,
October 11th, 2007
The
Escape07 Weekend is rapidly approaching. Thursday,
October 11th, is only a few weeks away. The members
of The Founders Region have been hard at work preparing
for the arrival of PCA members from your region and
zone. Escape07 is shaping up to be the premier opportunity
for Porsche Club members to delve together into their
nation’s beginnings at a perfect time of the
year while enjoying truly superb accommodations.
October
in the National Capital Region is a gloriously colorful
time. Washington, the surrounding towns and countryside
are filled with beds of fall flowers. The trees are
ablaze with the autumn colors. The days are warm
and dry, while the nights are pleasantly cool. And,
the hordes of tourist have gone, so the visitor can
absorb the varied and interesting sights and sites
that await the adventurous Porsche members.
We’ve
all heard of Mt. Vernon. Now is the time to visit
the historic site and its recently completed, expanded
Visitors Center
Scientists
believe the Smoky Mountains once rivaled the Rockies
in height. The Smokies majestic aura now comes from
the play of sunlight on their shapes and contours,
ever modifying the shades and tones of the mountainsides.
They will be at their Fall colorful best for Escape07.
What
can be more romantic on a country drive than a covered
bridge? What about a whole catalogue of them? Don’t
miss this collection of early transportation engineering.
. . . and they are still standing!
Seven
other tours are offered, each of them affording you
a wonderful drive to an historic site in the neighborhood
of your Nation’s Capitol.
Like
most valuable things in life, each opportunity has
time boundaries. One such limit is the 10th of September,
the last day to order Escape07 shirts. We are particularly
proud of the design and quality of the Escape07 shirts
for women and men. Each will have the Escape07 logo
on the left chest. However, they must be ordered
by the 10th of September.
A
second critical date is ten days later: the 20th
of September. That is the last date by which Escape07
attendees can avail themselves of the truly special
Escape07 room rate at the Westfields Marriott. For
only $129 per night, which includes full breakfasts
for two, attendees will partake of the amenities
of this glamorous resort hotel.
You
have seen the articles in Panorama. This inviting
PCA event merits your support. If you haven’t
registered for Escape07 at www.pcapotomac.org, now
is the time.
Please
share this announcement with your region members.
Thank
you! |

Here is the list of wishes for the children
at Christ Child House. Another few things that
they need
that isn't on the list is : Batteries( D, C and AA for all
the remote control
gizmos), itunes cards(available at checkout
counters everywhere from Kroger to Target
etc.), gift certificates
to Mr. Alan's shoe/clothes store or even Target or Visa,
American
Express gift cards are always great if someone is
not interested in getting specific
presents. This is going
to be a very sparse Christmas for these children as many
of
their donors have with drawn support due to economic times,
so any and all help is
appreciated. Please let me know which
child is selected and if the Porsche donor is
buying the
gift or the clothes or both.
All gifts are to be left unwrapped, just a name attached
will be helpful. If anyone has
any questions they can feel
free to call me @ 248-594-9752 Thanks Deb Miller
